The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon put out the CTET 2026 Notification on ctet.nic.in. This is for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for both Level 1 (classes 1-5) and Level 2 (classes 6-8).

Online registration for the CTET 2026 exam started on November 27, 2025, and ran until December 18, 2025, on the official website. Only Paper (1 or 2):

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹1000
• SC/ST/PH: ₹500

Both Papers (1 & 2):

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹1200
•  SC/ST/PH: ₹600

You can pay with a credit card, debit card, through net banking, or offline using an E-Challan.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET): CTET Level 1 (Class 1 to 5) Eligibility

Code 01 – You need a senior secondary degree (or the same level of education) with a minimum of 50% and be in the final year or have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Code 02 – You need a senior secondary degree (or the same level of education) with at least 45% and be in the final year or have finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as per NCTE 2002 standards.

Code 03 – You need a senior secondary degree (or something equal) with a minimum of 50% and be in the final year or have completed a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Code 04 – You need a senior secondary degree (or something equal) with at least 50% and be in the final year or have finished a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET): CTET Level 2 (Class 6 to 8) Eligibility

Code 01 – You have a Bachelor’s Degree and have either passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (whatever it’s called).

Code 02 – You have a Graduation with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

Code 03 – You have a Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or are in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), following the NCTE Norms.

Code 04 – You have a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Code 05 – You have a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Code 06 – You have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in a 1-year B.Ed. / (B.Ed Special Education)

Code 07 – If you have a B.Ed. from a programme recognised by the NCTE, you can take the TET/CTET.

How to CTET February 2026 Apply Online?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened online registration for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2025 (ctet.nic.in) starting November 27, 2024, for the CTET 2025 exam. To apply online for CTET 2025, just follow these steps.
